This week the City Council of Ashland, Oregon took a step toward banning all types of smoking for the entire city. The measure enters its first steps where the City Council solicits input from business and restaurant before moving to a vote.
Currently smoking in banned in the state within 10 feet of doors and windows of businesses however, it is not an offense unless a city create an ordinance to enforce it
The city staff has been asked to pen a proposal where the City Council could add an amendment that would apply to the entire downtown zone or the entire town itself.
