Core Zero cigars is a partnership with the Denver based Heavy Metal bands that was nominated for best new Metal artist in 2011. They offer four different cigars and they took a little bit of time to let us know about their patriotic names.
The Cigar Authority
The cigar that was once known as Icon, is seeing a Maduro added to the line. The Trademark Maduro from Hammer + Sickle is debuting at IPCPR and we reviewed it just a short time ago. The cigar is available in three sizes: Robusto (5 x 50); Toro (6 x 50) and Churchill (7 x 48) and will carry an MSRP of $8.50 to $9.50
The brand La Imperiosa has a history dating back to Cuba in the early 1900’s and translates into The Imperative, or “..that which is absolutely necessary or required.”. The La Imperiosa artwork and band was inspired from the original band. The blend features 100% Nicaragua binder and fillers, and is finished with the same Ecuador Habano wrapper that was used on the Las Calaveras EL 2014 and is available in 4 classic Cuban sizes.
We caught up with Nick from Foundation Cigar Company who tells us the meaning behind the name, “El Gueguense”. One of the new cigars launched at the IPCPR by Black Label Trading Company is Deliverance Nocturne. The cigar is available in 2 sizes both of which are Salmon. The Salomon “Snub Nose” – 6 1⁄4 x 36 x 56 and Short Salomon “Snub Nose” – 4 3⁄4 x 40 x 56. Each cigar is hand rolled at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Esteli, Nicaragua and is expected to ship in mid-September.
We caught up with Jorge Padron at the 2015 IPCPR to talk about the Padron Damaso. The cigar is being billed as milder but true to the cigar name. It will be available in four sizes: No 8 (5.5 x 46), No. 12 (5 x 50), No. 15 (6 x 52) and No. 17 (7 x 54) and is named after the grandfather of Orlando Padron.
L’atelier new release is La Mission which features a Sanctus Spiritus wrapper. The wrapper is a hybrid between Pelo de Oro and Criollo that is grown in Ecuador. The Mission is available in three sizes: 1959 (4.75 x 52/$8.00); 1989 (5 5/8 x 54/$9.00) and 2009 (6.5 x 56/$10) KC Johnson is the brother of Pete Johnson and the cigars are made at My Father in Esteli, Nicaragua.
