Law | Canada Trying to Ban Flavored Tobacco – Take Deux!

Oh Canada, can’t you just leave tobacco alone. In 2009 the federal government banned tiny flavored cigarillos because they deemed them to be marketed to children, eh. On Friday, Health Canada gave regulatory notice that it plans to put a stop to the way manufacturers have circumvented the ban. The law originally banned flavored tobacco on cigarillos that weighted less than 1.4 grams. Now, they are pushing for the ban to be on cigars heavier […]

The Week In Review Volume 5

Hockey Season, my favorite time of year. My Islanders made some key acquisitions before the season started and the reaction of Bruins fans over the loss of Johnny Boychuk seem to be justified. 2 games into the sea on and he already has 5 points, sees times on the PP and PK units. For the first season in a long time, I have hope for the team. We had Pete Johnson of Tatuaje Cigars on […]

Review | Davidoff Colorado Claro

Back in 2009, I had my first Davidoff Colorado Claro based on a suggestion from Jerry Cruz over at StogieReview.com. After I smoked the cigar it was the third highest rated cigar that I ever smoked, I called it the definition of “The Good Life” a homage to then Davidoff manager Michael Herklots’ blog. Last night while watching the Boston Bruins at my local watering hole, some of my friends challenged me to review a Parodi. Without really thinking things through, I accepted the challenge. At the end of the day if we can’t poke fun at ourselves, then we take the cigar review way to serious. What we do […]

In a story that would have hit close to home when my office was down the road in Union, the hamlet of Westfield has passed the first reading of an ordinance that will ban smoking on all municipal park grounds. If the smoking ban is violated, the first fine would be $50 and then increase to $500 for a third offense. The smoking ban will be enforced by the Westfield Police Department. Westfield is home […]
