The town council of San Anselmo, California is looking to ban smoking that includes some residents own private patios.
On Tuesday night the San Anselmo Town Council this past Tuesday considered an amendment to their current ordinance. The new amendment would ban smoking in all multi-unit residential buildings or units where a common wall is shared. This includes two family homes, apartments and condominiums.
The first reading of the proposal occurred at the meeting and if passed the new law would go into effect next year.
San Anselmo is home to 12,000 residents over 2.6 square miles and was founded in 1907.
