San Francisco, CA Raising Tobacco Age To 21

For cigar smokers, this is not a San Francisco treat. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to raise the purchase age for tobacco from 18 to 21. The ordinance applies to all tobacco products sold in the city limits and includes cigars, smokeless tobacco and e-cigarettes as well. The city of San Francisco, California is looking to raise the minimum purchase age of tobacco products from 18 to 21. The move comes despite a National Association of Tobacco Outlets lawsuit that says cities can’t override California’s state age of 18.
