Earlier last year, Davidoff announced they were making some a few cuts to their cigar portfolio. One of those lines that will be taking a seat on the bench is the Davidoff Puro D’Oro, a cigar that has been in production since 2010. Considering these are going by the wayside, I figured it would be a good time to give the Puro D’Oro another try while I still can. What am I smoking? Cigar Review: […]
Today we light up a #1 in the first hour and a #2 in the second hour. Yes, it sounds like Mr. Jonathan’s bathroom habits but it’s actually cigars that were rated by the magazines Cigar Journal & Cigar Aficionado. What will we smoke and what do you have to say about it? Tune in to find out! Last week we made our predictions did any of us get it right? All this any more […]
Back in 2010 I attended the launch of the Davidoff Puro d’Oro which marked the first time the company used Yamasa tobacco which was grown on a farm in a region that had never been utilized for tobacco in the past. The event featured fine hors d’oeuvres from Rothsman’s steak house who catered the affair and we enjoyed some incredibly fine wine while mingling with world-renowned chef Wayne Nish and musician Christian McBride who performed “The Good Life” on an upright […]
PIONEER. EXPLORER. DISCOVERER. Zino Davidoff was all of these, and more. Henke Kelner, Davidoff’s globally acclaimed cigar visionary, embodies that same daring spirit today. His endless pursuit to bring the cigar aficionado new tastes, experiences and pleasures, led him and his team of experts to the Yamasá region. A harsh and unforgiving swampland where others had tried and failed to grow tobacco, and which would ultimately deliver an incredible intensity and complexity. Everyone said it […]

While in warm weather the cigar might actually be used when taking your beloved pet for a walk, here in New Hampshire it takes on a whole new meaning for those of us who can’t light up indoors. These cigars are usually […]
Over the last couple of years, Davidoff has turned to Asian astrology and this year is no different as the Davidoff Year of the Sheep is set to hit the shelves next month. According to Davidoff, “As people rejoice in the dawn of a New Year, no one will look on with more contentment than the Sheep. To the Sheep, happiness is other people’s happiness. Generous of spirit, the Sheep loves to see their own […]
Each year at the IPCPR show, Davidoff hosts a dinner in which they give out Golden Band Awards to retailers from around the country. This year our own David Garofalo was a recipient of an award for his service to the industry for his battle of cigar rights throughout his home state of New Hampshire. Once such story that he relayed to me this weekend was how in the state of New Hampshire you could […]
