It was back in 2013 at the DC Tweetup I first met Skip Martin, and he was pimping a prototype cigar called Black Irish. It was a dark cigar with a thin candela stripe around it, that I bidded on for charity. Myself and another person kept raising the price, until we decided to split the box. However, my friendship with Skip Martin goes back at least a few years before that. It’s not often […]
The Cigar Authority
Back in 2014, Pete Johnson released the Tatuaje Tattoo which was cigar that was a bit more budget friendly then some of his other lines. The cigar is often overlooked even on Tatuaje’s own website where the cigar does not appear. The cigar comes to us from the My Father factory in Esteli, Nicaragua and it is today’s featured review on The Cigar Authority. Cigar: Tatuaje Tattoo Wrapper: Ecuador Habano Binder: Nicaragua Filler: Nicaragua (Esteli, Jalapa) […]
Each week on The Cigar Authority we light up a cigar with a lighter from Lotus. While we tend to stick with Vertigo, the company has lighters that fall under the Black Label class that are a step above. Today we take a look at one of those lighters, the Black Label Dominator and this multi-tool for cigar enthusiasts has become a favorite since its release. First and foremost, this essential cigar accessory has a […]
Let’s face it, due to FDA Regulations the influx of new cigars to check out has trickled down to a near halt. As a result, as new cigars come out we are going to review the different sizes to create content. We will also go back and review other sizes of some of our favorite cigars which should bring us to the end of the year. Today we review the 2nd of 3 sizes of The […]
It’s a good thing we got coffee as we are still recovering from the epic 32nd Anniversary party at Two Guys Smoke Shop. We will recap this event, and let you know how the event came together, the game, who was crowned King of Cigars, and who won out of all the customers attending the show. It was a crazy night and there will be a lot of stories to tell but it won’t just […]
Earlier today the US House of Representatives passed a 12 bill spending package that includes a provision prohibiting the FDA from enforcing regulations against premium cigars. The bill, known as an omnibus appropriations package, passed the House by 211-198 votes and will now move to the Senate for consideration. Congress has until December 8th to pass spending legislation and fund the federal government. So what does this mean? Section 752 of the House Agriculture Appropriations […]
The wolf is hungry, he runs the show… he’s licking his lips, he’s ready to win so what is wrong with another sin? We were originally scheduled to have on the show Justo Eiroa from JRE Tobacco but he flew home to be with his family as Irma is prepared to create havoc in the state of Florida. However the boys will rock you like a hurricane as we light up the first cigar from […]
Yesterday we took at look at the Medulla which is the tradition round cigar from one of the unique releases at the 2017 IPCPR. The Medulla Oblongata is unique as there are 25 cigars that are the traditional round (Medulla) and 25 cigars that are box pressed (Oblongata) in the same 50 count box. Both cigars are the same blend so it’s another instance of being able to judge for yourself how much box pressing […]
One of the unique releases at the 2017 IPCPR this year was the Asylum 13 Medulla Oblongata. This 50 count box is unique as there are 25 cigars that are the traditional round (Medulla) and 25 cigars that are box pressed (Oblongata). Both cigars are the same blend so it’s another instance of being able to judge for yourself how much box pressing changes things up, if at all. We did a similar comparison a […]
I returned last week from a stay-cation to a series of events with Nick Melillo from Foundation Cigar Company. At the events, he soft launched his new Wise Man Maduro as a follow up to the original El Gueguense and I couldn’t help but grab a few. Needless to say this is all I have smoked since Friday, and it just might be the best release from Nick R. Agua. If you haven’t checked it […]
