According to a report at CQ Roll Call, the House Appropriations Committee’s fiscal 2016 Agriculture spending bill includes a provision that would limit the FDA’s ability to regulate products. La Flor Dominicana is raising their prices for the first time in two years, but the change won’t come until August 1st. According to La Flor Dominicana, the increase of 2.5% across all lines comes due to the rising costs in the fight of premium cigar legislation which the company is deeply involved in. A secondary factor is the rising costs of importation and production from their factory in the Dominican Republic.
