In California, Senator Ed Hernandez a Democrat from West Covina introduced legislation that would raise the smoking age in the state from 18 to 21. The measure by Senator Tyson Larson of O’Neill that would exclude cigar shops from the 2008 Nebraska Clean Indoor Air Act has passed the General Affairs Committee by a vote of 7-0 today. On January 14, 2015 the Board of Health in the community of Watertown voted on a regulation regarding the sale of tobacco and the Minimum Legal Sales Age. Back in August the City of Manhattan Beach passed a law that prohibited smoking in all public places. The law carried fines up to $1,000.00.
