Basel, Switzerland – Davidoff’s new Davidoff Oro Blanco takes exclusivity, aging, and price point to an unprecedented level. Blended with the rarest of tobaccos with a combined age of 111 years, the toro is a masterpiece of raw vintage tobaccos of unmatched quality and the capabilities of Davidoff’s most experienced craftsmen.
Davidoff’s latest launch announcement may bring back memories of its previous Oro Blanco cigar release in 2014. With the last batch of this special cigar already released and soon to be completely gone, Davidoff today presents its new Oro Blanco Special Reserve 111 Years, a rare Dominican puro of exceptional age and value.
To present aficionados an unprecedented ultra-premium experience that will fill their time more beautifully and luxuriously than any cigar has ever done before, Davidoff’s Master Blenders have opened the vaults with the oldest and most precious exclusive vintage tobaccos to create the Oro Blanco Special Reserve 111 Years. Its blend is made up of well-aged tobaccos from five different terroirs.
“We cultivate 15 terroirs in the Dominican Republic alone, as this allows us to blend cigars with very diverse and unique flavour profiles. Each of these terroirs yields tobacco with individual characteristics in terms of texture, intensity and taste”, explains Edward Simon, CMO at Oettinger Davidoff. “The new Davidoff Oro Blanco blend is composed with the finest and most aged tobaccos in the industry. The binder and each filler are at least 17 years old, including one that we have never used in a Davidoff cigar before, and that was grown in an area that we no longer cultivate. All tobaccos combined, the Dominican puro is an impressive 111 years old. It is only rolled by our Master Roller supervisors with at least 20 years of experience and is only released when our Master Blenders deem it ready to be enjoyed. I am proud to declare the Oro Blanco Special Reserve 111 Years our rarest cigar to date, offering the ultimate indulgence to aficionados and appealing to collectors of ultra-premium creations”
Each cigar is adorned with two tastefully branded Oro Blanco bands with silver elements. In order to reflect this luxuriousness on the outside as well, Davidoff has set a new standard in packaging design. The Oro Blanco Special Release 111 Years comes in an elegant wooden box for one or ten cigars. The grain of the solid wood is reminiscent of the structure of a tobacco leaf. The Oro Blanco logo on the box is inspired by the rays of the sun. Due to its larger size, the box for ten cigars has some additional features such as a branded metal plaque, a smooth push and click system, a cedar insert on top of the cigars to protect them, and a metal plaque that can be personalized.
What we haven’t mentioned yet is the price point, which comes in at a staggering MSRP of $750 per single & $7500 per box of 10. For reference, you could buy a box of the Davidoff 2023 Limited Edition Aniversario No. 1 10 count box, and still have $110 left over before buying one Oro Blanco 111 Years single!
The Davidoff Oro Blanco Special Reserve 111 Years will be available on October 17th 2024 at select Davidoff Appointed Merchants.
