Day 2 of IPCPR 2018 Delayed Due to Electrical Fire – Updated

The IPCPR trade show has been delayed on day 2 until 1:00 PM due to an electrical fire that occurred early Sunday morning. Staff and crew are working hard to get everything ready and to ensure everyone’s safety. As a result of the fire the trade show will remain open until 7pm today.

The following companies have been effected, and as of right now only key personnel from the following companies are allowed on the show floor at this time:

Al Capone
Arango
Bags of Bags
Drew Estate
Costello Pipe
Benchmade
Nat Sherman
Rocky Patel
La Palina
Cigar Oasis
Tommy Bahama
Rabbit Air
Perdomo

Security staff is on site to escort representatives of these companies into the show floor at this time.

The fire has not caused a delay in any state association meetings as those will continue at their regularly scheduled hours. The IPCPR is continuing to run shuttle buses during these hours.

09:30 Pacific Time: According to various social media postings from the companies effected  the damage was mostly from water. Many companies listed above needed to have their rugs replaced due to the sprinkler systems going off. Companies like Nat Sherman and AJ Fernandez have added it should be business as usual once the trade floor opens.

09:45 Pacific Time: Nick Perdomo posted to social media thanking GOD that his booth had zero damage.

11:30 Pacific Time: According to various News Reports this is not the first time an electrical fire has occurred at the Convention Center. In February of 2018, another electrical fire occured on the show floor.

12:30 Pacific Time: With the trade show now open for manufacturers we are receiving reports that there is still a smell in the air. According to Ed Santamaria of Two Guys Smoke Shop, “there is an aroma of something, whether it is electrical wires or cleaning solutions is open for debate.
