H. Upmann The Banker DayTrader Toro Cigar Review

The H. Upmann The Banker DayTrader Toro pays homage to the brand’s financial roots with a modern twist—combining historical legacy with a bold, contemporary flair. Each DayTrader cigar features an Ecuadorian wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, & a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers.

From the start, it presents itself as a luxurious cigar: a thick, dark chocolate wrapper, slightly toothy with visible veins, and well packed. It’s a cigar that feels as substantial in the hand as its name suggests.

Upon lighting, the first third introduces a complex yet balanced profile. A hit of black pepper and anise sweetness starts things off, quickly followed by notes of cedar and hay. The blend evolves with creamy espresso and a surprising Andes Chocolate Mint nuance, supported by subtle fruity and raisin undertones. It’s a flavor set that feels layered and thoughtful.

Transitioning into the second third, the cigar sweetens. Notes of fresh fruit and sweet espresso take center stage, while an earthy tone adds depth. A standout moment is the impression of a charred, marbled ribeye steak—smoky and savory—balanced by hints of chocolate reminiscent of a Tootsie Roll. The pepper softens here, allowing other flavors to shine without overwhelming the palate.

The final third brings a return of black pepper, now mingling with rich wood notes and a playful heat akin to Fireball whiskey with red pepper flakes. The sweetness transforms into something darker and more decadent—think chocolate cake with just a trace of spice. The espresso fades gently, giving way to a smooth finish that never feels rushed or overpowering.

Overall, the DayTrader offers a full-flavored experience without being overly aggressive. The construction is impeccable: slow, even burn and a sturdy ash throughout. It’s a cigar that’s equally enjoyable as a morning companion with coffee or as a dessert pairing. Box-worthy? Absolutely according to some STARS . The H. Upmann DayTrader earns its place among modern classics.
