Law | Athena, OH To Introduce Smoking Ban

The Athens City Council is set to introduce a new ordinance that will make parks, recreation facilities, restrooms pavilion, hiking trails, and parking lots tobacco-free. The proposal will be unveiled for a first reading tonight.

The ban would include cigars, pipes and chewing tobacco.

If the ordnance passes, Athens would become the fourth city in Ohio to have a tobacco-free ordinance.

Athena, Ohio is home to 24,000 residents over 10.05 square miles and was founded in 1797.
