Law | Ghana Bans Public Smoking

The Food and Drug Authority (FDA) of Ghana will begin enforcing the ban on public smoking. According to the Agency it will begin to enforce the Public Health Act 2002, Act 851 (6).

According to Regulatory Office Daniel NTI if a person is caught smoking in public it will carry a fine of 750 unit and up to 3 years in jail.

Enforcement officials are currently undergoing training to help with the enforcement.

Ghana is home to 27 million people over 92,099 square miles and was founded in 1957.
