Law | Gloucester City, NJ Bans Smoking

In the small town of Gloucester city, along the Delaware river within state of New Jersey you can’t light up a cigar unless you are sitting inside your home. You can thank the local government for taking away your freedom to enjoy a legal product.

The new law which went into effect today makes it allege to smoke any form of tobacco in parks, city streets, sidewalks, your front porch, the stoop and the steps.

If you are caught smoking anywhere within the city limits you will be fined $100-$250 for the first offense and $500-$1000 for each additional offense.

The new law was passed by the city council of which 3 out of 7 are smokes according to city solicitor John Kearny.

Gloucester City is home to 11,000 residents over 2.7 square miles and was founded in 1868.
