Law | Seattle, WA Holding Park Smoking Ban Hearing

The city of Seattle is holding a hearing this evening at 6:30pm near Denny Par where the public can voice their opinions about a park smoking ban.

City Officials have been pushing for a ban on smoking, while those against the ban say its a smoke screen to push the homeless out of the parks.

The proposal calls in front of the Board of Seattle Parks Commissioners calls to change the current rule that says smokers must be at least 25 feet away from others in the park before lighting up. The new measure is an outright ban.
