Representative Kraig Powell of Heber City, Utah has reintroduced a bill that would raise the tobacco purchase age to 21. The bill which was submitted last year by the Republican failed in the state senate at that time.
It isn’t the only tobacco bill that has been proposed by the representative as he has another bill that would prohibit individuals under the age of 19 from entering a tobacco shop unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
A House committee will consider the 21 bill on Tuesday afternoon.
