If you listened to The Cigar Authority this past weekend we smoked the CLE Connecticut in the 11/18 size during the second hour. The size of the cigar is named for the birthday of Christian Eiroa’s mother on November 18. We raved about the cigar on the show and I enjoyed it so much I opted to make it the feature review on The Cigar Authority today. Can the boys tell you the name of the spice by the smell and taste of it or will they fall flat on their faces? We will light up the Rocky Patel Sungrown Maduro, and while we were supposed to be joined by the local […]

In 2018 the CLE Prieto gets a line extension with the release of the box-pressed Diadema. The brand debuted along side Chele in 2016 at TAA although they weren’t TAA Exclusives. Themes were an interesting take on light and dark wrappers as  Chele, which is slang for light-skinned and Prieto, which is Spanish slang for dark-skinned. Cigar Review: CLE Prieto Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf Binder: Nicaragua Filler: Nicaragua Length: 7″ Ring Gauge: 52 Vitola: Diadema The Look: The box pressed Diadema comes in 10 count […]

CLE Prieto Robusto by Christian Eiroa – Cigar Review

As I’ve said before, I’m a huge fan of fine Nicaraguan tobacco. There’s just something about its richness that I love. Historically, Christian Eiroa crafted his cigars in Honduras using primarily Honduran leaf. But now, he has a Nicaraguan cigar with a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper on it. Sounds nice, right? This is the CLE Prieto. What am I Smoking? Cigar: CLE Prieto Robusto Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro Binder: Nicaragua Filler: Nicaragua Length: 5 Inches […]
