This week, Independence, Missouri has voted to raise the tobacco products purchase age from 18 to 21. The move comes a month after neighboring cities Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS passed similar measures. Kearny, MO Considers VFW Exemption

On October 1, 2015 the town of Kearny passed a measure that banned all indoor smoking; despite a plea from the local VFW that said they would lose a lot of business should a ban go into effect and face the possibility of closing their doors. Kansas City, MO Raises Tobacco Purchase Age To 21

This Thursday the Kansas City City Council is set to take up a proposed ordinance that will raise the purchase age of tobacco to 21. The change is being pushed for by the Healthy KC Initiative, Chamber of Commerce and Blue Cross-Blue Shield. Farmington, MO Votes To Ban Smoking

In the city of Farmington, Missouri residents took to the polls where they voted in favor of a smoking ban bill 500-349. The vote was held after the City Council 5-3 in July to let voters decide the issue which strips away the freedoms of a business owner.
