Kansas City, MO Raises Tobacco Purchase Age To 21

This Thursday the Kansas City City Council is set to take up a proposed ordinance that will raise the purchase age of tobacco to 21. The change is being pushed for by the Healthy KC Initiative, Chamber of Commerce and Blue Cross-Blue Shield.
According to Council Member Scott Wagner, the move is expected to pass the full City Council hearing.
UPDATE: 11/20: The measure passed with an 11-1 vote in Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS passed a similar motion 6-1.
