The Cigar Authority Best of 2015

It was a busy year for The Cigar Authority and while we won’t name our cigar of the year until the Saturday before the super bowl we wanted to take the time to share some of our top podcasts and posts for the year. Without everyone checking the site and listening to the show this wouldn’t be possible so we wanted to say thank you. Have a Happy New Year!

We had over 1 million people listen to our podcast this year, but some of the shows received more listeners than others. While the majority of our traffic comes from iTunes we wanted to share with you the links to our podbean site where you can listen via the web.

Top 5 Podcasts

The number 5 listened to show featured Eric Newman of JC Newman where we discussed Diamond Crown.

Coming in at number 4 was Nick Perdomo, Pistols and Craft Beer which took days after we hosted an event at a gun range here in New Hampshire and we discussed the Craft Series
At number 3 was The Great Reveal of the 25th Anniversary. The cigar was part of The Cigar Authority Care Package which can be ordered on the right hand side of the website. Includes was a cigar that was more than 5 years aged and was blended by Pete Johnson of Tatuaje.
At Number 2 was a bit of a train wreck where we sat with down with Eric Hanson of Hammer + Sickle. The show, Smoking Trademark, Drinking Vodka, Playing Poker featured us getting a little bit drunk on vodka and having a little bit of fun.
The most listened to podcast had a lot of crossover with fans of the motorcycle joining us. The show was Philip Zanghi Talks Indian Tabac, Indian Motorcycles
It was a year of a lot of bad news and some great editorials from David Garofalo. We hope that 2016 will be filled with more good news, but as we wait for the FDA regulations it doesn’t seem likely.

We broke the news that the Massachusetts AG Releases New Cigar Regulations and we worked the phones with the CRA to get to the bottom of this at #3.
Another story we broke comes in at #2 when General Cigar Company Terminates President Dan Carr. It will be interesting to see if this company can stop the slide in 2016.
Lastly, the story that everyone is watching in the industry as the FDA Deeming Regulations Now In Hands Of OMB. We expect that final ruling t come out in 2016, but it is sure to be met with lawsuits that will prolong the final outcome.
While none of the cigars below made it into our contenders for Cigar of the Year; 5 stood out about the rest.
