The Winner of the 2016 Cigar of the Year Is….

January 7, 2016 – For the past 25 years Two Guys Smoke Shop has announced the Cigar of the Year. This year the cigar retailer in New Hampshire released the 7 cigars that would make up the Contenders in early August, 2016. This allowed consumers to place their vote for Cigar of the Year alongside employees of Two Guys Smoke Shop and members of The Cigar Authority.

This year saw the highest turn out of votes for any Contenders Pack in the history of Cigar of the Year which was originated by David Garofalo of Two Guys Smoke Shop and The Cigar Authority. While early voting was close with numerous lead changes, one cigar began to run away with it. A cigar that was also unanimously voted on by The Cigar Authority. That cigar, La Galera Connecticut.

La Galera is the heart of any cigar factory. For La Galera maker Jochy Blanco, it is the space where their experienced master rollers concentrate to express their art in creating exquisite and refined cigars; using premium aged tobaccos from the best tobacco fields in the Cibao Valley, Dominican Republic to make this cigar. The La Galera Connecticut features an Ecuador Connecticut wrapper over a Dominican Binder. The filler contains the special Dominican T-112 varietal, along side Piloto Cubano and Criollo ’98.

According to David Garofalo owner of Two Guys Smoke Shop, “The La Galera Connecticut is rolled at a factory known for so many great cigars. It was no surprise the Jochy Blanco kept the best of the best for his company, Indian Head Cigars. We believe this cigar embodies everything a premium cigar should be with the right combination of strength and flavor to ensure this cigar can be enjoyed by the masses.

The official size of the cigar of the year is the 6 x 54 El Lector. However, the cigar is available in a multitude of sizes available at 2GuysCigars.com.
