The World’s Strongest Cigar Review. To create a strong cigar, you must first use tobacco that has a strong character, soil that is rich in minerals and leaves of high priming. On September 28, 2024, the New England Cigar Expo will witness the exclusive launch of the World’s Strongest Cigar, but today we will do the first ever review of this cigar. When I say “we” I mean David Garofalo and Mr. Jonathan in the first ever dual review for The Cigar Authority site.
The World’s Strongest cigar breaks the mold with a single, powerful blend measuring 6” by 56 ring, that challenges even the most seasoned aficionados. The World’s Strongest cigar is a creation of Reinier Lorenzo, President and Founder of HVC Cigars, crafted at the Fabrica de Tabacos HVC S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Reinier shared his enthusiasm, “When I heard about this project, I felt that I must try to put my hat in the ring to create a blend that would live up to its name in all aspects.”
“For the World’s Strongest cigar,” explained Reinier, “we used the top leaves from the best regions in Nicaragua – Estelí and Jalapa. We included a double binder from Jalapa’s Corojo 99, two ligero leaves from Jalapa, and visos and secos from Estelí’s Criollo 98, known for its strength.”

Cold Draw: Notes of Fig Newtons, & Rasins |
Cold Draw: Wheaties with Mary Lou Retton on the box, fig jam |
First Third: One Draw Thats The Law! It will make you take & step back or lean back in your chair if seated. Intense flavor, heavy meatiness with black pepper spice. |
First Third: Cunin, black pepper, charred ribeye steak with some heaviness that lingers on the chest. |
Second Third: Black pepper, and beef flavors continue with some molasses sweetness. Somehow the cigar is staying lit despite how slow I’m smoking. I feel the fillings in the back of my mouth as I question my life choices signing up to smoke something this strong. |
Second Third: Caramelized sweet onion is introduced as the black pepper & charred ribeye flavors continue. The heaviness continues to build. |
Final Third: I have the meat sweats now and I’m prepared to throw in the towel, but I make it through (barely). The great flavors keep me in the game. Leathery full flavor, tasty like a fine steakhouse dinner, but the strength is too much for this reviewer. |
Final Third: Sweet clove candy now accompany my continuing black pepper & salt coated steak dinner flavors. While the strength never takes a break. |

Final Thoughts: This cigar is not for everyone, including me, as a matter of fact, it’s just for the leather tongue full strength fanatics! Well made, burned amazingly well but this is one of those cigars that you can say you smoked but no need to repeat often. I can’t take points away because of just strength but be warned! |
Final Thoughts: If you’re looking to test your cigar limitations, World’s Strongest Cigar is the one. Wondering if you’re man enough to handle it? Give one a try. This cigar is strong but balanced, believe it or not. It is not under fermented or raw, or any tricks to fool the smoker. This is the real deal, a full-flavored, full-bodied cigar, certainly the strongest I have ever smoked |
