Law | Fargo, ND Expands Smoking Ban

The Park Board in Fargo, North Dakota has approved expanding the existing smoking ban on park district properties. There are now a total of 16 areas where smoking is prohibited and a handful where smoking is allowed most of the time.

According to Park District spokesman Clay Whittelesey, the commissioners felt since smoking is legal they didn’t want a complete ban. These areas include open area’s and trails. It also includes all park district golf course with the exception of El Zagal.

The areas in which smoking is band include all indoor facilities, outdoor skating rinks, tennis courts and skate parks. Also include in the ban is “family events”.

Fargo, ND is home to 113,000 residents over 48.82 square miles and was founded in 1871.
