Anchorage, AK Looks To Ban Tobacco Products In Town Square

The city of Anchorage, Alaska is looking to clean up town square and in doing so they have proposed a new ordinance that would prohibit vaping, cigarettes, cigars, pipes and “already illegal drugs” in the area.

The smoking ban would include the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts property along with the surrounding walkways.

According to Assemblyman, Dick Traini the ordinance would be enforced by summer bike cops and Anchorage Police Department with penalties of a warning for the first offense and a $50 fine for any additional offenses.
