Big Papi Firecracker Getting Released Again by United Cigars

Spring Training is in full swing and with our national pastime’s opening day around the corner it is the perfect time for the Big Papi Firecracker to step back into the batter’s box. Featuring a dark, rich Mexican wrapper grown in the San Andres Valley, the Big Papi Firecracker explodes with flavor right from the start. Returning for MLB’s Opening Day, the Big Papi Firecracker is back as part of United Cigars collaboration project with Artista.

Originally launched in 2021, the Big Papi Firecracker honors the hall of fame first baseman and designated hitter David Ortiz. Ortiz played 14 seasons in the majors, finishing his career with ten All-Star appearances, three World Series rings and seven Silver-Slugger Awards. This Special Edition Big Papi Firecracker is a variation of the Slugger line by Artista with an added boost to the blend from third-generation owner Ram Rodriguez. Artista is a family-owned factory operating out of the Cibao region of the Dominican Republic.

“This was a special project that I wanted to be a part of,” said Ram. “This Firecracker is a unique vitola and for a Big Papi Firecracker it had to be special. I wanted tobacco that was grown in the Dominican in the 60’s and Dominican Negrito was that tobacco.”

Presented in collectible boxes of 20 cigars, the Big Papi Firecracker features a QR Code with a special ‘Thank you’ video from former MLB star David Ortiz. Ortiz personally autographed boxes as part of this collaboration some of which may become available as apart of this rerelease.
