Brickhouse Maduro

Brick House Maduro Robusto Cigar Review

The Brick House Maduro Robusto is a masterful tribute to J.C. Newman’s family heritage, originally inspired by the only brick house in his Hungarian village. Relaunched by his grandsons Eric and Bobby Newman, this cigar combines the classic Brick House Nicaraguan filler with a rich Brazilian Arapiraca Maduro wrapper, creating a smoking experience that balances tradition and bold flavors.

The Brick House Maduro showcases a dark chocolate color with a fine tooth and satin sheen. Seams are tight and smooth, with minimal veins, giving it a polished, visually appealing look.

The opening is rich and inviting, offering toasted brown bread reminiscent of Texas Roadhouse style, paired with spiced apple jam. Notes of unsweetened cocoa and creamy vanilla emerge alongside dried fruit, leather, black pepper, and cashews. Subtle hints of oak and black tea round out the first third.

The profile develops with a slight cayenne pepper kick over the toasted brown bread base. Toasted marshmallow and dried cherries add a touch of sweetness, while cashews remain prominent. Black pepper mellows, and strong black tea, lemongrass, and a dash of wasabi spice provide a layered complexity.

The cigar shifts toward earthy leather flavors as strength slightly increases. Walnut and cashew notes persist, complemented by black coffee, hints of raisin sweetness, butterscotch, and subtle citrus lemon peel in the background.

Brick House Maduro is a flavorful cigar with a variety of taste transitions that keep the smoking experience interesting. It produces a dark ash and moderate smoke. While opinions varied on burn, draw, construction, and flavor changes, the consensus is that it is an enjoyable cigar for those looking for a dessert-style, end-of-day smoke rather than a morning pick-me-up.
