The first limited edition cigar of 2018 has been released, in 2017. Just like Christmas decorations seem to go up in our cities and towns early across America, Davidoff has jumped the gun by branding a cigar as a 2018 Limited Edition 2 months before the year ends. Yes, the cigar is for the celebration of the Chinese New Year which happens to be the Year of the Dog, so we will give them a […]
The first release of the Muestra de Saka sold out in nearly the blink of an eye. Now the Muestra de Saka returns with a new size and a new blend. The name Nacatamale is a reference to a traditional food found in Nicaragua that is often reserved for a mid-morning Sunday meal. The release this time around is limited 2250 boxes of 7, for a total of 15,750 cigars. Cigar: Muestra de Saka Country of […]
It’s RoMaCraft weekend at The Cigar Authority as we welcome Skip Martin & Mike Rosales to the VODCast/Webcast/Podcast this weekend where we will be broadcasting live from Studio 21 Podcast Cafe above Two Guys Smoke Shop in Salem, NH on the United Podcast Network. Mention the word Candela and most people cringe at the thought of smoking a cigar with a green wrapper. It’s long been associated with having a vegetal component, but in recent years that has begun to change. It’s made a bit of a comeback especially as St. Patrick’s Day comes closer. Companies like Illusione, La Flor Dominicana and RoMaCraft have made great candela’s. So much so, they now get a limited release throughout the year […]

While I have smoked and enjoyed the AJ Fernandez Enclave many a time before, I can’t remember smoking the Figarado vitola. This morning I decided to take a gamble with this particular size. I say gamble, because the Figurado can be the most rewarding size or the most frustrating. There is something about the way the cigar channels from the small perfecto tip to the full chamber that creates a nice flavor experience if the […]
If you listen to The Cigar Authority, and you should I am sure the jingle is already in your head. Just opening the box of these cigars cues up the Jose Dominguez commercial in my head. It also makes me want a donut, but that’s a story for another time. For those that don’t know Jose Dominguez was a former veterinarian who decided it was time to do something new. So he turned to cigars […]
This weekend we light up the Vallejuello Medio Tiempo on the show, and as I try to do every Friday is showcase the cigar we will talk about on The Cigar Authority. I’ll be honest, I thought it was a bit repetitive, but the feedback via Facebook requesting this has been strong, so here we are. The name comes from the fact the cigars uses a rare form of tobacco that doesn’t grow on every tobacco […]
Since 2008, Pete Johnson has reinvented Halloween for cigar smokers. It all started with The Frank, which to date remains my favorite Monster Series release. From there it went to The Drac (2009), The Face (2010), The Wolfman (2011), The Mummy (2012), JV13 (2013), The Jekyll (2014), The Hyde (2015) and The Krueger (2016). There were two little monsters called Chuck and Tiff, but they have not received a Halloween release. It is expected that […]
