Padron 1964 Anniversary Principe Natural Cigar Review

Back in 2008, I referred to the Padron Principe as my favorite cigar and scored it 100. I said in actuality it was a 94-96 but since it was my absolute favorite it deserved a perfect score at the time. Earlier this year, I smoked the Atabey which was the first cigar to receive a 100 rating here at The Cigar Authority. According to Padron, “The Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series line was introduced in 1994 […]

Atabey Brujos Cigar Review

When I first took the ride up to Two Guys Smoke Shop in New Hampshire, upon meeting David Garofalo he gave me an Atabey to smoke. The cigar was easily one of the greatest cigars I smoked, and I couldn’t wait to smoke it again. Today, we smoke it again. The cigar is made by Nelson Alfonso who is best known for his work on Cuban cigar brands, including the Behike. According to the Atabey website, […]

AJ Fernandez Last Call Maduro Pequenas Cigar Review

Last Call comes to us from AJ Fernandez, and the cigar which is made in small viola’s is designed for the first cigar in the morning with a cup of coffee, or as the last cigar of the evening after an enjoyable dinner. For me, it’s the Last Call before I head out on vacation this weekend. Don’t worry though we will still have some cigar reviews next week as I will be re-posting some of […]

Made by Christian Eiroa and Tom Lazuka, the Asylum Nyctophilia is an all Maduro cigar from the dark San Andreas wrapper, to the Nicaraguan binders and fillers. A full bodied triple-maduro, the limited edition Nyctophilia is a true powerhouse of a cigar. The name is in reference to people who love the dark, and in this case the darkness is Asylym Nyctophilia! It’s today’s review on The Cigar Authority…. Cigar: Asylum Nyctophilia Size: 6 x 60 Wrapper: San […]

La Flor Dominicana La Nox Toro Cigar Review

This past weekend on The Cigar Authority we spoke with Jonathan Carney about all things La Flor Dominicana. While the spotlight has been put on the LFD Andalusian Bull I decided to light up a cigar that the spotlight needs to go back on, La Nox. The cigar was blended by Tony Gomez, the son of Litto Gomez and it is the cigar that changed things up for the Miami based, La Flor Dominicana. I […]

Jaime Garcia Limited Edition 2017 Cigar Review

If the FDA has their way I will really miss the release of the Limited Edition, as today’s limited edition and many limited edition cigars don’t meet the predicate date as it stands. In the end it hurts the cigar industry as a whole, but as a consumer I would suffer the greatest loss because much to a retailers dismay, I want what is new. Today’s cigar is new in the sense that it is […]

Perdomo Habano Bourbon Barrel Aged Connecticut Robusto Cigar Review

A few weeks ago, someone asked me if I would consider posting a review of a cigar we plan to smoking on the podcast the day before it airs. They asked because they wanted to be able to smoke along with the review. It was an interesting idea, so I figure I will run with it the next few weeks and see how it works out and if there is any feedback that backs this individuals […]

Aladino Cigars come to us from JRE Tobacco which is a family centered company, founded by Julio R. Eiroa and his son Justo M. Eiroa whom happen to be the father and brother of Christian Eiroa. The cigars come from their crop to shop operation in Honduras, and for those old enough to remember the original Camacho brand, it is not difficult to see the similarity. Cigar Review: Aladino Wrapper: Honduran Corojo Binder: Honduran Corojo Filler: Honduran Corojo Length: 6″ […]

Padron Soberano Tubo 1964 Anniversary Series Cigar Review

In 2016 at the InterTabac trade show in Dortmund, Germany Padron showcased two new sizes in the 1964 Anniversary line. Those sizes named Soberano and Presidente were available in the usual Natural or Maduro wrapper. However, it wasn’t the new sizes that caught everyone’s eye, it was the aluminum tubes that the cigars were packaged in. Today we review the Soberano which translates to Sovereign. It’s not the first time a cigar came in a […]
