LAW: SUNY Oswego to Go Smoke Free January 1st, 2015

Law: Branson, MO Proposes Smoke Free Ordinance

The city of Branson, MO is looking to go smoke free, and a proposed ordinance will prohibit smoking in all public places as well as enclosed places of employment. In a city-wide survey taken by the Chamber of Commerce, 64 percent of the respondents felt a smoke free environments was very important for the city. Law: Huntsville, AL Bans Smoking on City Property

On Monday, August 11th, 2014 the city of Huntsville, AL passed an ordinance which prohibits the use of tobacco on city property.  Huntsville is the 4th largest city in the state with a population over 500,000 people and is home to NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center as well as the United States Army Aviation and Missile Command at the Redstone Arsenal.

Law: New Zealand Could Be Next to Adopt Plain Packaging

In a growing trend, New Zealand might become one of the next countries to adopt a plain-packaging law. The law would require that tobacco products be sold without any branding or trademarks. Law: Allegheny Health Network Bans Smoking

The 7 hospitals of the Allegheny Health Network in Pennsylvania has banned smoking on their grounds, joining a growing list of health care facilities that has topped 3,600. Starting on January 1st no workers, visitors or patients will be able to use any tobacco products on company property. News: Albany Votes to Ban Tobacco Sales In Stores With Pharmacy

Country legislators voted 21-17 and became the first county in the state of New York to ban tobacco sales in retail stores with a pharmacy. According to CBS 6 in Albany.
