As a cigar blogger, I look forward to the releases from Perdomo for a couple of reasons. The first and foremost is I enjoy the cigars that Nick Perdomo releases but secondly, it’s going to come out in three wrappers giving me three different reviews. At times figuring out what to review and what to smoke can be difficult. We have reviewed the Connecticut and the Sun Grown edition of the cigar that features a […]

Back in 2004, Christian Eiroa borrowed from a release he came out with before he left Camacho. At the time, the Triple Maduro was considered to be an uber strong cigar but would the Eiroa CBT still be considered such today. The Eiroa CBT, which stands for Capa, Banda, Tripa is all maduro. The wrapper, binder, and filler is made up of tobacco that can be classified as Maduro. A Maduro as defined from Christian is, “A […]
Late last year the Perdomo Habano Barrel Aged had a branding change and a blend change. While Perdomo says the original line was Barrel Aged as well, the new version sees a cigar made up of tobacco leaves that are one priming higher than that of the previous blend. The result is a richer cigar due to the longer fermentation process the tobacco now requires. The wrapper of the Sun Grown Perdomo Barrel Aged spends […]
Last year Perdomo unveiled the new Perdomo Habano Barrel Aged (say that, 10 times fast!) at the IPCPR in New Orleans. The brand replaced the old Perdomo Habano line with a new more modern look and a slight blend change that has to do mostly with a change of primings. Featuring 6 year aged Connecticut wrapper that is aged an additional 6 months inside a bourbon barrel. The cigar is rounded out with binder and […]
While Hammer + Sickle received accolades for their Tradition line, the Trademark Natural is one of my favorite cigars from the New England. The company which also makes Vodka original released the Trademark under the name Icon. However, due to a copyright issue they were forced to change the name. That name is Trademark which is genius if you ask me. According to the Hammer + Sickle website, “Trademark series Connecticut is the quintessential mild […]
In 2015 one of the big stories was the rebranding of Avo across all the lines. We had reviews the Classic, XO and Domaine as well as the new Syncro. Today, we address the Avo Heritage which when it was originally released was the line that turned me on to Avo Cigars. According to the Avo website, “Together — Avo Uvezian, Hendrik Kelner and the next generation of gifted cigar craftsmen — developed this harmonious […]
Debonaire. That is the one word to sum up Mike Rosales and Skip Martin of RoMaCraft Cigars who this Christmas sent out a Christmas gift to retailers. David Garofalo of Two Guys Smoke shop was one of those to receive the token of appreciation for their business. And as any cigar weasel would do, I manage to get a few of these to smoke. The Petit Corona was made available as a Sampler Pack at […]
It’s that time of year where many of us are recovering from spending too much money over the holidays. As a result sitting down and enjoying a good cigar is more difficult as cigar isn’t a need, but a want. I know this month my cigar budget is much less than in other months. So as a result we look for other options that don’t disappoint and while today’s smoke is a Two Guys Smoke […]
I’ve lived in different climates over the course of my life and being back home in the northeast means it is time for a cigar that many refer to as a dog walker. While in warm weather the cigar might actually be used when taking your beloved pet for a walk, here in New Hampshire it takes on a whole new meaning for those of us who can’t light up indoors. These cigars are usually […]
When I first got into the cigar business in the early part of 2000, I was approached by a cigar rep who was pitching the greatest cigar to hit the market in years. It was here that Glenn Gutin showed me cigars made by a roller from Cuban who was now in the United States trying to make his way into the market after the cigar book. That person was Don Pepin Garcia, and the […]
