The Davidoff Flagship Store in Basel Rheinsprung opens with a new look
Basel, June 2015 – The new Davidoff Flagship Store in the heart of Basel has been designed in accordance with the new globally standardized concept “Davidoff of Geneva – since 1911”, and is opening its doors on June 11, 2015.

The challenge in designing this unique cigar shop was to preserve the company’s history while continuing our mission to delight and surprise our customers worldwide by delivering unique brands and unrivalled retail experiences,” explains Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard, CEO of Oettinger Davidoff AG.

The new Davidoff Flagship Store in the historical building at Rheinsprung 5/Eisengasse boasts around 128 m2, which includes a 21 m2 walk-in humidor. The 40 m2 modern cigar lounge will be decorated with Bohemian glass pieces from Dechem studio and with art work from Mónica Ferreras de la Maza, and Jorge Pineda, who were the first Dominican artists to collaborate with Davidoff and its art program; the Davidoff Art Initiative.
This unique Flagship Store, overlooking the river Rhein, has been transformed into a retail space that is at once elegant, contemporary, and warm. It will also feature a unique lounge full of ambiance where customers can relax. Its exclusive interior design has been realized in partnership with Poltrona Frau and combines the Dezza model from the 60’s, original lounge chairs from 1919 (used by cigar aficionados in the 20’s), the “Albero” library furniture by Frattini (a reissue of the 50’s models) with the famous chandelier Light Forest from Ontwerpduo. Fifteen private lockers fitted with humidors will be available for VIP customers to store their cigars in perfect condition.
The new look and feel with natural materials in earthy tones and lush woods retells the Davidoff legacy and continues the tradition of creating an inspiring place where aficionados can find exceptionally crafted cigars and limited editions, including the Masterpiece Humidor Collection, created by renowned French artist Lison de Caunes.
