Griswold, CT To Vote On Smoking Ban *UPDATE*

In the southeastern part of Connecticut sits Griswold, a town that is part of New London County. On Tuesday, August 11 at 6pm they are set to vote on a measure that could ban smoking in the town’s parks. .

If passed the ban will be in effect at Veteran’s Memorial; Babe Gauthier Park; Richard Lee Bronson Memorial Field; Jewett City Skate Park; Pasquale and Maria Caputaro Memorial Field; Griswold Elementary School P.T.O. Dedicated Community Playground; and the Little League Complex.

Also smoking would be banned at town events although a designated smoking area 100 feet from the main event area will be instituted.

UPDATE: On August 11, 2015 the measure passed by a 19-2 vote. Violators of the new ordinance will be fined $50.
