The City Council of Boulder, Colorado is set to expand on the existing smoking ban for the city with a new ordinance. The proposed changes will include a smoking ban at the Pearl Street Mall, parks, golf courses, open spaces, mountain parks, trails and set rules prohibiting smoking within 25 feet of a city library and 15 feet of a transit stop.
Violators of the new ordinances should they pass will face fines of up to $1,000 and up to 90 days in jail. The City Council despite not voting on the measure as of yet expects it to be official adopted by the end of the years.
There will me a session on the smoking ban on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6pm at the Boulder Municipal Building.
