Law | Tobacco Displays Banned in United Kingdom

When the battle against the FDA started stateside one of the things we were told is that tobacco displays could become banned. Many laughed at the audacity of such a thing, surely it could not happen.

Beginning today it is now illegal to openly display tobacco products in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

According to the National Federation of Retail Newsagents, some of the new rules require that tobacco be carried in a non see through box or bag, the display of only one price list per store and the use of a specific font and size to relay those prices.

The United Kingdom is home to 64.1 million residents over 94,060 square miles.
