You can add another town to the growing list in the state of Massachusetts to raise the tobacco purchase age from 18 to 21. This time it is Norwell which is located Southeast of Boston, and beginning March 31 anyone under the age of 21 will be prohibited from making a purchase of tobacco products.
The new measure all bans the sale of tobacco in which a store has a pharmacy and prohibits the sale of flavored tobacco. The measure means local supermarkets such has Hannaford’s and Stop & Shop which house a pharmacy will no longer be able to sell tobacco.
The measure was passed on December 21 at a public meeting where it has been states that no residents or members of the business community came out to speak against the ban.
