Fremont, CA Prohibits New Tobacco Stores

The city of Fremont, California saw the City Council vote unanimously to approve prohibition. The new ordinance will prohibit any new retail tobacco stores from opening. The measure came despite the city staff recommending new tobacco stores under a strict zoning regulation, while the Planning Commission voted in November to recommend a complete band. Yesterday the City Council in Pittsburgh, PA voted to ban smoking and all tobacco use at all Pittsburgh owned parks.
