Rockport, MA Bans Smoking In Parks

The list of places to light up a cigar in Rockport, Massachusetts just got smaller due to a new regulation passed by the town’s Board of Health that makes it illegal to light in parks, athletic fields and outdoor patios. The move also includes Nursing Homes, hotels, motels and taxi waiting areas.

Additionally, it is illegal to now smoke within 50 feet of an entrance of municipal buildings; unless you are just passing through. The 50′ smoking radius also executes to tobacco shops.

Violators of the new ordinance will be subject to fines of $100 for a first offense, $200 for a second and $300 for a third offense .
