Rocky Patel Premium Cigars (RPPC) has changed the look of its renowned FIFTEENTH ANNIVERSARY line. The packaging changes will be introduced at the IPCPR trade show in July, and the new look brand will begin shipping to tobacconists shortly thereafter. The Fifteenth Anniversary’s award-winning tobacco blend will not change.
“For years, the Fifteenth Anniversary has succeeded because of its character, strength and complexity,” said Mark Weissenberger, VP of Marketing for RPPC. “It was always the dull bands and the overly heavy metal box plates that kept this brand lost on retail shelves. So it was time for a facelift. A glowing facelift.”
The Fifteenth Anniversary’s cigar bands will now showcase the brand name as well as the Rocky Patel logo with shinier silver embossing set above its gun metal background hue. The new look will radiate further on the cigar’s dark Habano seed wrapper.
The biggest redesign change comes in the form of the Fifteenth Anniversary’s new box style. The sleek all-black outer box features brilliant silver embossing, yet once opened, the box’s interior lid presents a glimmering silver background that will surely draw the eye once displayed on retailer shelves.
Since its debut in 2010, Rocky Patel Fifteenth Anniversary has received critical acclaim, and thus the tobacco blend will remain unaltered. It was named three times to Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigars of the Year list, peaking at #6 in 2011. Robb Report also named the brand Best of the Best in 2011. The box-pressed Fifteenth Anniversary will continue to be available in Robusto, Toro, Torpedo, and Sixty (all packaged in 20-count boxes), as well as a round Toro Tubo (packaged in 10-count boxes).
