On Wednesday, the Portland City Council voted 4-1 to ban smoking at parks and nature areas owned by the city. This also includes city owned golf courses. The measure passed by a vote of 4-1. On Wednesday, Portland City Council will hold a hearing discuss a city-wide smoking ban in public parks. The hearing comes in advance of a vote by the City Council that is scheduled for February 18. If it passes, the smoking ban would begin in July.
