Law | Portland, OR Bans Smoking In Parks & Golf Courses

On Wednesday, the Portland City Council voted 4-1 to ban smoking at parks and nature areas owned by the city. This also includes city owned golf courses. The measure passed by a vote of 4-1. Law | Portland, OR Ban Hearing

On Wednesday, Portland City Council will hold a hearing discuss a city-wide smoking ban in public parks. The hearing comes in advance of a vote by the City Council that is scheduled for February 18. If it passes, the smoking ban would begin in July. The new law would expand existing smoking restrictions to more than 200 public parks facilities, trails, golf courses, recreation areas and community centers. Law | Portland, OR Looking To Join Smoking Ban

A citizen advisory board in the city of Portland, Oregon has recommended to ban tobacco products including chewing tobacco in all city parks. The Parks Board of Portland delivered its recommendation on Wednesday to Amanda Fritz, the current commissioner who plans to bring a ban to the City Council in January.
