Texas Raises Tobacco Purchase Age To 21

The state of Texas has raised the tobacco age to 21 with Republican Governor Greg Abbott signing Senate Bill 21 into law. The bill had the support of the company JUUL who took full-page advertisements in state newspapers in support of the measure. Texas Lawmakers Propose Bill To Raise Tobacco Age to 21

The state of Texas has seen the proposal of HB 749 which would raise the tobacco possession age to 21 and would also require retailers to request ID from anyone under 30 years of age.
