Texas Senate Passes Tobacco 21 Bill

The state of Texas has seen the proposed Tobacco 21 bill, SB 21 pass the State Senate by a measure of 20-11 in a vote held on April 9th, 2019.

The Texas House has a similar measure HB 749 that is currently on the calendar that would need to pass in order for the bill to move to the Governor’s desk.

The bill has seen support by the company JUUL who took a full-page advertisement in the Dallas Morning News in support of the measure. Altria, the parent company of Nat Sherman Cigars owns a 35% stake in the e-cig company.
