Office of Management and Budget Against HR 2339 – Bill That Would Ban Online Cigar Sales

Yesterday the House of Representatives passed a resolution that cleared the way for a vote on HR 2339 that is expected to happen today February 28th, 2020. Maine Legislators Introduce Bill To Raise Tobacco Tax 305%

The state of Maine has seen House Bill LD 1028 introduced that seeks to raise the tobacco tax on cigars 305%. In the state of Maine cigars are currently taxed at a rate of 20% of the wholesale price, the new proposal would change that to 81%. FDA Extending Ingredient Listing by 6 Months

This afternoon the FDA announced via its twitter feed that it was extending the compliance deadline for submitting ingredient listings for deemed tobacco products by 6 months. The move comes a little over two weeks after they announced they would be delaying the listing for people in areas affected by hurricanes flooding and fires.
