Aladino Corojo Toro Cigar Review

The Aladino Corojo Toro comes from Julio R. Eiroa and his son Justo, who have helped revive traditional Honduran cigar craftsmanship at the Las Lomas Cigar Factory in the Jamastran Valley. Made entirely from Cuban-seed Corojo tobacco grown on the JRE family farms, this Honduran puro features 100% Corojo tobacco in its wrapper, binder, and filler.

The Aladino Corojo Toro features a caramel-colored, dark brown wrapper with a rustic, toothy texture and plenty of visible veins. The cigar is well-packed with a slightly box-pressed shape, giving it a traditional, rugged appearance.

The cigar opens with a burst of cedar accompanied by creamy notes of toffee, vanilla, and a buttery richness reminiscent of Chardonnay. Toasted cashews, walnut shell, and mocha add depth, while hints of Raisin Bran cereal and a splash of citrus contribute a pleasant sweetness to the finish.

Wood and oak remain prominent as subtle hay notes develop in the background. Espresso, cinnamon, and black tea introduce a richer, spicier profile, with black pepper gradually increasing in intensity. A touch of cocoa and yellow cake sweetness helps balance the developing mixture of spices.

Leather and oak continue into the final third as earthy notes become more pronounced. Black pepper, baking spices, and coffee take center stage, while the earlier buttery Chardonnay character lingers in the background. A subtle touch of lemon zest provides a final contrast to the cigar’s increasingly earthy and woody profile.

The Aladino Corojo Toro delivers a smooth, flavorful smoking experience with a balanced profile that never becomes overpowering. Its approachable strength and enjoyable combination of wood, creaminess, nuttiness, and spice make it an easy cigar to appreciate. AloHowever, STARS reviewers were divided on construction, flavor complexity which affected the overall score. Despite these criticisms, the Aladino Corojo Toro remains an enjoyable Honduran puro with plenty of traditional Corojo character.
