Law | Princeton, NJ To Propose Raising Tobacco Age to 21

Right in the backyard of the Tobacconist University, and home to Little Taste of Cuba, Jorge Luis Armenteros has a battle on his hands as Princeton, New Jersey seeks to become the fourth town in the state to prohibit sales  of tobacco products to anyone oder the age of 21. Law | North Dakota Shoots Down Tax Increase

There were two bills in North Dakota that sought to the raise tobacco taxes. The proposals would have seen cigars taxed at 50% instead of the current 28%. Last week, the House of Representatives said no to that proposal by voting it down, and the Senate proposal was met with a similar response this week failing with a vote of 30-17. Law | Portland, OR Bans Smoking In Parks & Golf Courses

On Wednesday, the Portland City Council voted 4-1 to ban smoking at parks and nature areas owned by the city. This also includes city owned golf courses. The measure passed by a vote of 4-1. The golf courses effects by the measure include Heron Lakes ,Rose City, Eastmoreland and RedTail even though the latter is in the city of Beaverton.
