Law | La Verne, CA Issues Moratorium On Tobacco Businesses

The City Council of La Verne, Californian unanimous passed an urgency ordinance on Tuesday night in which a 45-day moratorium was established freezing the establishment or expansion of tobacco-related businesses in the city. Law | Iowa Bill Would Ban Casino Smoking

In Des Moines, Iowa a new bill has been introduced in the State Legislature that would require casinos to comply with the state’s smoking ban. Currently, casino floors are exempt from a 2008 law that prohibits smoking in public places. Law : New York State Looking to Ban Flavors

There are currently two bills pending in the New York State Assembly (A 128) and Senate (S 1825) that would ban characterizing flavors in most tobacco product. The bill feature language that would ban all “characterizing flavors” except for tobacco, mint, wintergreen and menthol.
