Oregon Introduces Bill To Remove Cigar Tax Cap

The state of Oregon saw the introduction of bill HB 2158 which would remove the tax cap on cigars. Currently cigars are taxed at 65% of the wholesale price with a 50 cent cap. The new measure which had its first reading removes the cap and places the tax at 65% of the wholesale price. North Dakota Lawmakers Consider Bill To Raise Tobacco Age

Representatives P. Anderson (D-41), Guggisberg (D-11), Hager (D-21), J. Nelson (D-14), Schneider (D-21) and Senator Davison (R-41) have introduced bill HB 1236. The bill seeks to raise the tobacco purchase age from 18 to 19 years old. New York Governor To Propose Tobacco Purchase Age Increse To 21

The 56th Governor of New York State, Democrat Andrew Cuomo is expected to submit his 2019 Executive Budget on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019.
