The Cigar Authority has received news from multiple credible sources that Dan Carr, President of General Cigar Company has been terminated.
Dan Carr joined General Cigar in 1996 and was quickly promoted to VP of Sales. In 1999 with the acquisition of General Cigar’s mass market business he moved to Swedish Match as the North America VP of Sales. In 2004 he would receive a promotion to Senior VP of Sales and Marketing in North America for Swedish Match, and in 2005 when the company acquired General Cigar he would move back to General as the VP of Sales and marketing.
In 2010, he was named as President of General Cigar after a brief stint as Chief Operation Officer.
