On Monday, the town council of Middletown, Rhode Island voted unanimously to hold a public hearing on June 1st regarding a proposal to ban smoking at all public beaches, parks and recreational spaces in town.
According to Middletown Beach Commission Chairman Rian Wilkinson he believes smoking on the beaches might cause some beach-goers to leave and never come back.
